We have an amazing preschool program that is 5 days per week and full day from 8am to 3pm. We also have before care starting at 7am for only $87 monthly, and after care from 3pm to 5:30pm for only $122 monthly. It is FREE to all district residents, and ONLY $450 monthly if you live outside of our district's boundaries. We had 17 nonresident students last year due to the quality and cost of our program! This is much cheaper than most, if not all, other TRUE educational based preschools and childcare centers. SPOTS fill up quickly. We currently have 4 classrooms available for full day, and 2 and 1/2 of them are already filled. We cap our full day classrooms at 20 students and provide a qualified and certified teacher and qualified teacher assistant to each classroom. Our teachers and teacher assistants meet the qualifications for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, present at conferences, and are visited by other school districts' staff members, state representatives, county officials, agencies, and others to see the outstanding practices taking place on a daily basis at all times. We teach to the Missouri Early Learning Standards using universal screening tools, competency based instruction, progress monitoring, data analysis, and parent communication! Our wrap around services are second to NONE! We partner with many agencies, organizations, and others, including but not limited to Ready Readers, The Little Bit Foundation, Special School District, Institute for Family Medicine, SLU, St. Louis County Library, and MORE! Please feel free to share this post and/or information with others! Remember that SPOTS FILL UP QUICKLY, so it is important to visit ps.hpsd.school to enroll!

Congratulations HPMS and HPHS for their success in each accomplishing recognition as a State and National School of Character. The process for this is rigorous, as it requires a leader to coordinate, organize, and complete. Mr. Veldhuizen and Mr. Ferguson spearheaded these respective processes to their completion in their respective buildings. Teamwork was definitely needed and included staff, community members, parents, and students! There is a written application and then a virtual visit. The written application requires narratives about your character journey and how you implement the 11 principles of character (a narrative for each principle). You have to provide academic and discipline data, demographic data, and survey data. The virtual site visit involves 30 minute interviews with the following groups: administrators/counselors, teachers, character education committee, and parents/community members. Well deserved CONGRATULATIONS! -Dr. Dittrich

Please do the following as soon as possible to reserve your child's spot in our preschool and kindergarten programs. All students must enroll or re-enroll to attend the preschool or Kindergarten program for next school year, 2024-25. If your student is enrolled currently for this school year, you will need to log onto the Infinite Campus portal and click on the online registration button and re-enroll your student for the 2024-25 school year. All of the students' information is on the portal from last year. You will just need to update any incorrect information and SUBMIT the form. If you do not re-enroll your student through the portal, your child will NOT be enrolled in the 2024-25 school year. If you have any questions, or forgot your Infinite Campus login information you can email Lissa Vargas at lvargas@hpsd.school or call her at 314-544-1300, ext. 11070. Also, if your child is going to Kindergarten next year at Hancock Place Elementary School, be sure to follow their Facebook and Website pages. They have a great event coming up next week if you have your child registered ahead of time!
