Our first of at least three Parent Advisory Committee meetings this school year is scheduled for next week on Tuesday, October 7th, at 5:30pm. Meetings will end by no later than 7pm and childcare will be available for children who are potty trained and well behaved. Our agendas include but are not limited to: safety protocols and measures; academics; behavior; and social-emotional. If you plan to attend, we require an RSVP as well as if need the childcare option so that we can order the appropriate amount of snacks for children and adults. RSVP by emailing me at tdittrich@hpsd.school or voicemail at 314-544-1300, ext. 11090.

A couple of important reminders!
We still plan to have our Fall Family Fun event from 6pm to 7pm today at the Early Childhood Center, even if it rains. If it is raining, we will open up the gym area, but if it is not raining, we will be on the playground and the gym will not be open. You will be able to receive a free ice treat from the Kona Ice Truck when you leave; treats are not allowed inside. Looking forward to seeing all of you!
Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24th, is an early release day. Full Day students need to be picked up on time at 11:40am at the ECC and the preschool students' parents at the elementary school location should check SeeSaw for their times. Half day/Morning classes will be dismissed at their normal time. Half Day/Afternoon classes will not have school. There is no after care at either location. Teachers and staff will be engaged in professional development after pick up. Thank you in advance for being on time!

IFM Community Medicine (Hancock Health Clinic) offers a wide range of services for our students, staff, and community members. I encourage you to explore what the clinic provides and consider how it might benefit you and/or your family.
One upcoming opportunity is outlined below, along with an attachment containing additional details:
Kristi has coordinated a mammogram screening event in partnership with Mercy’s Mobile Mammography Van. The van will be parked in front of the Central Office building on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This service is available to district staff, clinic patients, and community members. Mercy requires a minimum of 13 scheduled appointments to confirm the visit and prefers to pre-register patients by phone.
Please review the attached flyer for details, including eligibility and the phone number to reserve your appointment.
Thank you, and we hope this service is helpful to those who may need it.

Please read through the following for important information!
-Classroom Supply list is attached to email as well as on our Facebook and Website pages
-Tax Free Weekend is August 1st - 3rd; details can be seen at this link,
https://dor.mo.gov/taxation/business/tax-types/sales-use/holidays/back-to-school/consumers.html
-Teachers are meeting August 1st to determine which classroom your child will be assigned; you will be contacted early the following week
-Open House is Thursday, August 14th, from 5pm to 7pm; children attending classrooms at the early childhood center will sign up using Signup Genius and those at the elementary school are able to arrive at any time in that span. It is best if you can bring your child's classroom supplies at that time.
-Please remember and you will be reminded that children will be walked into the buildings by staff starting on the first day of school. Again, it is best if classroom supplies are brought to Open House or at another time so the car line at drop off is moving efficiently.
